CULTURAL DIALOGUE 2026 – QUEBEC
The 6th Canada-China Cultural Dialogue officially returned, marking a significant relaunch of this vital people-to-people platform after a nine-year hiatus. Hosted at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Québec on June 2, 2026, the session brought together senior leaders from government, diplomacy, and the arts under the theme Building Cultural Connections. We are thrilled to see the resumption of this critical channel for cultural diplomacy, which serves to dismantle barriers, foster mutual understanding, and pave the way for future collaborative partnerships.
It was an honour to have the following people officiate at the opening and deliver opening remarks:
- The Honourable Kody Blois, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister of Canada
- Mr. Francis Bilodeau, Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage
- His Excellency, Ambassador Wang-Di
- President Yang Wan-Ming, of the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC)
A Memorandum of Understanding on the promotion of understanding through culture, was signed between the CPAFFC and Can4Culture in the presences of the officiating dignitaries.
Distinguished leaders in the fields of cultural policy, museums, music, filmmaking and documentary production provided insightful talks that captivated audience.
A special display entitled "Between the Lines: The Cipher of Civilization in Chinese Characters” was also exhibited for guests to enjoy.
